Learn how a Project works

Description

A project is a resource used to better organize your partners and links, so that you can have different settings and behaviors for each one of them, and also you can group your statistics so you better understand what's going on in every project.

There are multiple ways of looking at projects, for example:

Multiple Projects

You have your SaaS that's running great and you want to enhance the revenue by offering to your userbase a referral program, so that if they refer somebody, they'll get a reward. This could be set up as a individual project.

But also, you have an e-commerce for your SaaS in which you sell merch, and you'd want to have another referral system in your store so that buyers will bring other buyers for promotions or rewards, that would be another project.

Targetting Groups in Projects

You can also use the projects to split up behaviours you would want, for example, if you have a SaaS and you want to have a referral behaviour for your trusted partners in which the conversions are automatically approved, and another project for your new partners, in which you would want to manually approve the conversions until you build trust with them. You could totally do that with the project settings and by setting up an individual project for each case, and if you want to move a Partner to another project once there's enough trust, you could just assign it to the new project and new rules will apply!

Other examples

These are just a couple of examples, but the length in which you can expand the projects is up to you ! So in reality, only the sky is the limit :)

Configure a project

In order to configure a project, you will need to go to the Settings > Projects in the left navigation menu inside your space in the platform.

There, you will find the list of projects that you already have, and a button to create a new project on the top right side of the screen, if you click it, you will find a form like the following:

Project Create Form

There the form is pretty straighforward, but here's some extra explanation on some of the fields to help you better understand them:

FieldValue typeDescription
NameTextThis is the name of your project, it will be used to visually identify the project.
DescriptionTestIf you have multiple projects, this description will be useful so you can better understand the projects.
Base URLURLThis will be the base URL used to generate the links for this project, it's just to make your life easier and just copy the links instead of building them yourself
Cookie LifetimeIntegerThis value will be used to set the Cookie Lifetime in the client when someone lands on your page and they are comming from a referral link. It must not exceed 365 days to be within compliance.
StatusSelector valuesThis is the current status of the project, inactive projects will be paused, so the referrals, clicks and conversions that are comming for those projects will be discarted.
